GLENSIDE - The Arcadia University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the hiring of Kyla Johnson as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. Johnson will begin her duties at Arcadia on Wednesday, February 4th.

"I'm extremely excited to join this department and to have the opportunity to continue a strong tradition of athletic excellence," Johnson explained. "I'm looking forward to contributing to the success of our student-athletes and working in partnership with our athletic programs."

Johnson comes to Arcadia after working in different digital media positions with the Cairn University athletic department, including serving as an official photographer, social media coordinator for the baseball program, and as an assistant to the Athletic Director.

"We are thrilled to welcome Kyla to our team," Director of Athletic Communications Adam Planamento '12 said. "Throughout the hiring process, Kyla displayed a vision for our social and digital media and a commitment to telling the stories of Division III student-athletes the way they deserve to be told, and we can't wait to see how she will continue to push the promotion of our student-athlete achievements both in competition and in the classroom into the future."

Johnson brings experience from a wealth of different backgrounds, including as a Ticket Services Representative with the Philadelphia Phillies, and as an independent photographer where she served as a primary photographer for the Savannah Bananas at Citizens Bank Park and for Theo Kandel at MilkBoy Philly. 

Johnson graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cairn in 2025 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management.
