GLENSIDE, Pa. (August 31, 2012) – Senior setter Carlee Rossiter tallied a team-high 17 assists to go along with five digs as the Arcadia University women's volleyball team opened the 2012 season with a 3-0 victory at home over Penn State Abington. Graduate student Erin Ficca added a team-high 15 digs for the Knights as they rolled to the 25-18, 25-19, 25-22 win.
Junior outside hitter Taylor Hoover had a game-high nine kills and 13 digs to lead Arcadia while senior middle hitter Delaney Dobson contributed eight kills. Arcadia had no trouble jumping out to a 1-0 lead while forcing the Lions into mishandling many attacks in the opening game. PSU-Abington settled down a bit in games two and three; however, Arcadia stayed focused and came away with the sweep thanks to a balanced attack.
The Knights will travel to Cairn University on Tuesday before returning to host Hood College in the first Commonwealth Conference game of the year on Wednesday
