Men’s Swimming Team Sets Four School Records, Drops 141-92 Dual to Albright

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's swimming team dropped a 141-92 Middle Atlantic Conference dual meet to visiting Albright College Saturday afternoon at Lenox Pool, dropping its record to 1-3 for the season. The Lions remained unbeaten, improving to 5-0 on the year.
 
Freshman Eric Lam (Freemont, Calif.) won the 100 breaststroke with of 1:03.94 and won the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:21.38, setting new Lenox Pool and school records in both events.
 
Classmate Matthew Morano (Staten Island, N.Y.) tied his own school record in the 200 freestyle as he placed second overall with a time of 1:49.65, and later won the 100 freestyle in a school-record time of 49.51 seconds, which was just 0.03 seconds from matching the pool record. Morano also won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:09.15 seconds.
 
Sophomore Timothy Graham (Teaneck, N.J.) won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:05.47 and then won the 100 butterfly with a pool-record time of 55.98 seconds. He was also a member of the winning 200 freestyle relay team - along with Morano, junior Alex Ganguzza (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) and sophomore Collin Andrew (Westmont, N.J.) - that turned in a first-place time of 1:34.28.
 
Six additional pool records were set by Albright during the course of the meet. The team of senior Ralph Porrazzo (Mohnton, Pa.), senior Sam Rosenthal (Doylestown, Pa.), sophomore Mitch Cain (Moorestown, N.J.) and senior Richard Edwards (Yardley, Pa.) won the 200 medley relay with a pool-record time of 1:42.90 to start the day.
 
Junior Rick Sutton (Hatboro, Pa.) won the 200 freestyle with a pool-record time of 1:49.49, while senior Stephen Thomas (Warminster, Pa.) won the 100 backstroke with a pool-record time of 58.10 seconds. Porrazzo won the 200 backstroke with a pool-record time of 1:57.35 and freshman Ken Richardson (Downington, Pa.) won the 200 breaststroke with a pool-record time of
2:21.59.
 
The team of junior Alex Bauer (Pottstown, Pa.), senior Rainer Floeter (Wayne, Pa.), freshman Jake Andryshak (Bayville, N.J.) and senior Mike McBride (Eagleville, Pa.) closed the day with a pool-record time of 1:32.45.
 
Arcadia will next compete in a tri-meet at Goucher College with Gallaudet University November 16.
