Men's Lacrosse Defeats Rosemont for Second Straight Win

Box Score Glenside, PA (March 20, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (2-3) won their second straight contest tonight, 15-3 over the Rosemont College Ravens (1-6). The Knights scored five second quarter goals to take an 8-2 halftime lead and never looked back. Chris Jacovino scored four goals, while Matt Fox had three goals and three assists.

Rosemont scored the first goal of the match at 8:46, but Austin Morris tied the game at 7:46 off a Philip Egnor assist. Rosemont then tied the game, but Arcadia scored the next seven. Ryan Griffo scored a man-up goal from Fox at 3:07 and then Fox scored at 1:17 to make the score 3-2 after one quarter.

Jacovino started the scoring in the second quarter at 13:08. Morris then scored his second from Fox at 7:12 for a 5-2 lead. Jacovino scored two more and Fox scored another, all unassisted sending the game into the break with an 8-2 score.

Rosemont scored the first goal of the third quarter, but that was the last goal they would score. Arcadia scored the final five. Fox, Jacovino, Keith Napolitano Casey Joffe all scored unassisted goals in the fourth. Wendell Butler then scored from Napolitano and Richard Derival ended the scoring for a 15-3 final.

Arcadia outshot Rosemont 64-13 and won 17 of the 22 face-offs. Cory Sonderschafer got the win, playing over 50 minutes and made three saves.

Arcadia will return to action on Saturday as they host Alvernia for a 3pm face-off on Easton Field.
