Women's Lacrosse Wins Third Straight After Defeating Immaculata

Box Score Easton, PA (March 23, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (3-3) won their third straight contest and went undefeated for the week after a 17-10 win over the Immaculata University Mighty Macs (4-3) this afternoon. Dawn Faranetta led the way for the Knights with five goals.

Arcadia got on the board quickly as Meghan Fallon scored just 45-seconds into the game. Immaculata tied the game at 27:55, but a goal by Haylee Molloy gave the Knights the lead back at 26:11. Arcadia made it 3-1 at 23:23 as Katie Bauer scored from Molloy. The Mighty Macs then scored three straight to take a 4-3 lead.

Katie Bauer then tied the match at 20:05. IU tied the game again at 13:31, Brewster again tied the game. Immaculata then scored two straight to take the lead back, but Dawn Faranetta tied the game at six off a Abbie Brewster assist at 8:27. Brewster put the Knights back ahead 7-6 at the 5:51 mark from Faranetta. The Mighty Macs then tied the game six at 1:36 and took the lead at :36-seconds going into the break with a 8-7 lead.

Arcadia scored the first seven goals of the second half to take control. Faranetta scored the first two goals of the half, one unassisted and one from Molloy. Molloy then scored from Fallon for a 25:20 for a 10-8 lead. Fallon, Faranetta, Molloy and Fallon again all scored unassisted goals and the score was 14-8 with under 19 minutes to play. IU scored to make it 14-9, Faranetta scored an unassisted goal, Catherine Brown scored from Jenna Crothers and Molloy scored for a 17-9 lead. IU ended the scoring in the final tow minutes for a 17-10 final.

Molloy scored four times and Fallon had three goals and two assists. Deanna Thompson got the win in goal, making five saves.

Arcadia returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to face Lancaster Bible.
