Box Score Glenside, PA (April 10, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (11-12) ran their winning streak to five games this afternoon, winning a lightening game two, 9-2 over the Penn State Abington Nittany Lions (10-8). Arcadia jumped out to the lead by scoring five in the first inning. The game was called in sixth due to lightening.
Brandee Zablotsky went 2-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.
Penn State Abington got on the board with a run in the top of the first, but Arcadia scored five times in the bottom of the inning as
Brandee Zablotsky hit an RBI single, Nancy O'Reilly hit a sac fly,
Sara Boyadjis hit an RBI single,
Amanda Tomaschek hit an RBI single and Stacie Lin Borrell scored on a wild pitch. The Knights added a run in the third on and RBI single by Tomaschek. The Nittany Lions scored a run in the top of the fourth to make the score 6-2. Arcadia scored three more in the fourth as Zablotsky hit an RBI double, Sam Chalupa scored on a wild pitch and Wood hit an RBI single.
The game was called in the top of the sixth due to lightening which made the game officially final 9-2 in five innings.
Tomaschek was 2-3 with two RBI.
Erin Ficca earned the win, pitching 3.1 innings and allowing two runs on four hits.
Arcadia will return to action tomorrow as they host a doubleheader against Swarthmore at 3:30pm on Blankley Field.
