Men's Lacrosse Drops Home Conference Match to DeSales

Box Score Glenside, PA (April 13, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (4-6, 0-2 MFRE) dropped a 12-6 decision to the DeSales University Bulldogs this afternoon 12-6. DeSales led 5-3 after one, but outscored the Knights 7-3 in the second half. Austin Morris scored twice for Arcadia.

DeSales got the scoring starting with a goal in the first minute of the first quarter. Arcadia then tied the game at the 5:21 mark as Austin Morris scored a man-up goal from Chris Jacovino. The Knights then took their first lead as Richard Derival scored at 1:15 and they took the lead into the second quarter.

In the second quarter, DeSales tied the match with a goal early in the second quarter. The Bulldogs then then took a 3-2 lead with a goal at 12:22. The Knights tied the game three at the 11:19 mark as Jacovino scored. DeSales scored two goals in the final 2:06 of the quarter and took a 5-3 lead into break.

The Bulldogs scored three unanswered goals to start the third and take an 8-3 lead. Ryan Griffo scored from James Galassi to make it 8-4, but DeSales scored just 20 seconds later. Morris scored his second from Griffo at 1:52, sending the game to the fourth with DeSales leading 9-5. DeSales started the fourth the same way they started the third with three straight goals. Galassi scored at 3:57 to make the final 12-6.

DeSales outshot Arcadia 30-26 and won 15 of the 22 face-offs. Each team scored twice on man-up opportunities.

Arcadia will return to action on Monday when resume their suspended game against FDU-Florham at 4pm on Easton Field.
