Box Score Reading, PA (April 2, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights bounced back in game two of a doubleheader at Albright this afternoon, winning 12-3. The Knights scored nine runs in the first three innings and never looked back.
Brandee Zablotsky went 3-4 with a run scored and four RBI in the win.
Arcadia scored five in the first as Zablotsky hit an RBI single,
Leanda Helms hit an RBI double,
Ashley John hit a two run double and
Corrin Showalter hit an RBI single. Albright scored three times in the bottom of the first to make the score 5-3. The Knights added three more in the second as Zablotsky knocked in a run on a groundout,
Jessica Wood hit an RBI single and
Ashley John hit an RBI single for an 8-3 lead.
Arcadia added one in the third on an RBI single by Zablotsky and led 9-3. The fourth inning went scoreless, but in the fifth Zablotsky hit another RBI single for a 10-3 lead. The Knights scored two more in the sixth as
Amanda Tomaschek drove in a run and Nicole Larro hit a sacrifice fly to make the score 12-3. Albright did not score in the sixth and the game ended with the Knights winning by the nine run margin.
Marissa Perez went 3-4 with two runs scored and John went 2-4 with two runs scored and three RBI.
Sarah Gunia got the win in relief, pitching the final five innings and allowing no runs on one hit.
Arcadia will return to action on Thursday when they travel to Delaware Valley College for a non-conference doubleheader.
