Box Score Glenside, PA (April 30, 2013) - Haylee Molloy scored eight goals, leading the Arcadia University Knights (14-4) to their first ever MAC Freedom Championship Game after defeating the Wilkes University Colonels (10-4), 16-11 this afternoon. Arcadia had a 12-11 lead with 12:34 to play, but scored the final four goals of the game, two by Molloy to open up a lead they would never relinquish.

Arcadia will head to Fairleigh Dickinson - Florham on Saturday for the MAC Freedom Championship Game. This will be the Knights first Championship Game appearance overall since winning the PAC Championship in 1997. Game time for Saturday has yet to be determined. The Knights will be looking for the first team MAC Championship since Arcadia joined the league. The last teams to play for a MAC Championship were the men's and women's soccer teams in 2009.

Haylee Molloy wasted no time getting the Knights on the board as she scored at the 29:14 mark on a free position shot. Wilkes tied the game at the 24:35 mark as Madeline Brownsey went in on a fast break and scored. Molloy gave Arcadia the lead back, scoring on her second straight free position shot at 23:52. Melanie Rivera tied the game once again for the Colonels, scoring at 23:23. Dawn Faranetta gave the Knights the lead again at 20:14, scoring an unassisted goal. Molloy then scored her third at 14:51 to give Arcadia a two goal cushion, 4-2.

At 12:52 Gabby Ford drew Wilkes to within one, scoring an unassisted goal. Tori Kerr then tied the game at 4-4 at the 10:32 mark scoring an unassisted goal. Molloy then scored her fourth goal of the game at 9:56 to give the Knights the lead back. Carley Smith then tied the game at 5-5 for the Colonels scoring at 6:16. Faranetta gave Arcadia the lead back at 3:47, scoring off a pass from Kathleen Finnegan, but Kerr quickly tied the game for the Colonels just 21-seconds later. Smith then gave Wilkes their first lead at 3:06 scoring an unassisted goal. At 2:16 Faranetta scored from Molloy to tie the game at 7-7 for Arcadia. As time expired on the first half, Meghan Fallon scored off an Adeline Bellesheim assist to give the Knights an 8-7 halftime lead.

Brownsey tied the game for Wilkes just 90-seconds into the second half. Molloy then scored her fifth goal at 25:54 to give Arcadia a 9-8 lead. Kerr then tied the game once again, scoring at 23:19 and the Colonels then took the lead as Brownsey scored at 20:29, making the score 10-9. Faranetta then tied the game for Arcadia, scoring at 16:26.

Crothers gave Arcadia the lead back at 15:21, scoring on a free position attempt. Molloy then scored for the sixth time to give the Knights a two-goal advantage, 12-10 at 14:47. Smith scored on a free-position shot for Wilkes to cut the Arcadia lead in half at 12:34. Catherine Brown scored from Meghan Fallon at 11:08 for a 13-11 Knight lead. Molloy then gave Arcadia their biggest lead, scoring her seventh goal at the 9:29 mark, making the score 14-11. Molloy then put on the exclamation point at 2:06, scoring her eighth goal for a 15-11 lead. Bellensheim scored the final goal of the match from Fallon at :56-seonds to make the final score 16-11.

Molloy also had one assist. Faranetta score four times and Brown had a goal and an assist. Jordyn Dunacusky got the win in goal, making nine saves.
