GLENSIDE, Pa. – Sophomore
Alexandria Broome (South Euclid, Ohio) rallied from a first-set loss to pull out a 2-6, 6-1, 10-2 win over fellow sophomore Kristy Schwenk (Schwenksville, Pa.) at sixth singles to give the Arcadia University women's tennis team a 5-4 win over Alvernia University Saturday afternoon at Weiss Courts. The Knights are now 3-2 for the season, while the loss dropped the Crusaders to 2-2.

Jasmine Peake (Coatesville, Pa.) and freshman
Allyson Naiken (Ringoes, N.J.) got things going for Arcadia with an 8-3 win at third doubles over senior Kellie O'Donnell (Oreland, Pa.) and sophomore Lillian Hussar (Lewisburg, Pa.), while junior
Viola Sawyer (Glen Cove, N.Y) and freshman
Justine Sawyer (Glen Cove, N.Y.) followed with an 8-6 win at second doubles over sophomore Alyssa Boyd (Bethlehem, Pa.) and Schwenk.
The Knights led 2-1 after doubles play, but found themselves trailing 4-3 with just two contests to be completed in singles action. Junior
Danielle Riggins (Dorchester, N.J.) tied the match at 4-4 with her 6-2, 6-1 win over Rachel Eberhardt (Hamburg, Pa.) at fifth singles before Broome sealed the win with her three-set win over Schwenk. Freshman
Emily Delp (Harleysville, Pa.) was also a singles winner for Arcadia, recording a 6-3, 6-1 win over Hussar at No. 4.
The Knights will close out the dual portion of their fall schedule Tuesday when they host Bryn Mawr College at 3:30 p.m. at Weiss Courts.
