Women’s Lacrosse Wins Second Straight with 18-11 Victory at Neumann

Box Score ASTON, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 on the season after recording an 18-11 non-conference victory at Neumann University Tuesday afternoon. It was the first game of the season for Neumann.
 
The Knights never trailed in the game and used a four-goal run that spanned just over two minutes midway through the first half to break a 2-2 tie and take the lead for good. Junior midfielder Jaclyn Feffer (Montgomery, N.Y.) started that surge with her first goal of the game and fellow junior midfielder Catherine Brown (Howell, N.J.) added her first tally of the contest less than a minute later. Senior midfielder Katie Bauer (Downingtown, Pa.) capped the run with a pair of goals that were 53 seconds apart to give Arcadia a 6-2 lead.
 
Arcadia led 8-5 at the half and got out to a quick start in the second, going on a 5-1 run to open a 13-6 lead 10 minutes in and then went on another four-goal run that extended the Knights' lead to 17-8 with 11 minutes remaining.
 
Freshman midfielder Erin Misner (Westhampton, N.J.) scored a game-high four goals with one assist for Arcadia, while Bauer and Brown tallied three goals each. Jenna Crothers scored two goals while handing out a game-high seven assists, while sophomore attack/midfielder Dawn Faranetta (Randolph, N.J.) and Feffer also found the back of the net twice each.
 
Misner grabbed eight of the Knights 24 draw controls, while Brown notched seven draw controls and Feffer pulled in six.
 
Sophomore midfielder Jordan Hopkins (Aston, Pa.) scored three goals with one assist to lead Neumann, while sophomore attack Rebecca Dolenti (Pottstown, Pa.) and senior midfielder Lexy Wilkinson (Marlton, N.J.) each added a pair of goals.
 
Sophomore goalie Jordyn Dunacusky (Conshohocken, Pa.) improved to 2-0 in goal for Arcadia after stopping eight shots on cage. Senior goalie Sam Kotowski (Wilmington, Del.) took the loss for Neumann after allowing 12 goals and making nine saves in 36:02.
 
Arcadia outshot Neumann 35-27, had a 30-19 advantage in ground balls and secured 24-of-31 draw controls.
 
The Knights will next host their first home game of the season when they take on Widener University in a noon non-conference contest at Easton Field.
