Huge first half lifts women’s lacrosse over Rutgers-Camden, 18-6

Box Score CAMDEN, N.J. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team opened the game with a seven-goal run and never looked back on its way to an 18-6 non-conference victory at Rutgers-Camden Wednesday afternoon. The Knights remained undefeated on the season with their seventh straight win, while the Scarlet Raptors fell to 1-4 with the loss.
 
Senior Jenna Crothers (Patchogue, N.Y.) tallied game-high totals of five goals and three assists to lead Arcadia to the win, while junior Jaclyn Feffer (Montgomery, N.Y.) added three goals and a game-high nine draw controls. Classmate Haylee Molloy (Holtsville, N.Y.) scored two goals with two assists, while freshman Erin Misner (Westhampton, N.J.) netted two goals with one assist and a pair of draw controls. Senior Sara Volk-Perez (Mays Landing, N.J.) also had a pair of goals in the game.
 
Sophomore Jordyn Dunacusky (Conshohocken, Pa.) stopped the only shot on goal she faced in the opening 8:57 to earn the decision in goal and improve her record to 7-0 for the Knights. Freshman Brittany Hodson (Hughesville, Md.) allowed six goals while making three saves in the remaining 51:03.
 
Sophomore Krystal Valianti (Oaklyn, N.J.) scored three goals to lead Rutgers-Camden, which had three other players with one goal each. Classmate Michelle Boyd (Mt. laurel, N.J.) suffered the loss in net, allowing all 18 goals and making five saves.
 
Crothers scored four of her five goals in the first half, which saw Arcadia take a 12-2 run at the break. Feffer, Molloy and Volk-Perez had two first half goals each during as the Knights build an insurmountable lead. Arcadia opened the second half with a six-goal run that featured goals from senior Anna Dienstman (Pennridge, Pa.), junior Mindy Hair (Abington, Pa.) and sophomore Rachel Chan (Old Saybrook, Conn.). Dienstman's goal was her first of the season.
 
Arcadia outshot the Scarlet Raptors 31-13 and held a 17-9 advantage in draw controls, while Rutgers-Camden had a 25-14 edge in ground balls.
 
The Knights will look to secure their eighth consecutive win Saturday when they travel to Alvernia University for a 1 p.m. non-conference match.
