St. Davids, Pa. – Sophomore
Alexandria Broome (South Euclid, Ohio) was a winner in both doubles and singles competition, but it was not enough as the Arcadia University women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 Freedom Conference match at Eastern University Tuesday. The Eagles improved to 5-3 overall after winning their conference-opener, while the Knights fell to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Broome teamed with senior
Danielle Riggins (Dorchester, N.J.) for a 9-7 win at third doubles over the tandem of senior Elaine Grazulis (Malvern, Pa.) and junior Jenn Balbi (Orefield, Pa.), and then went on to register a 6-1, 6-2 win over freshman Laura Thomas (East Petersburg, Pa.) at fifth singles.
Arcadia will be back in action April 9 when it hosts a conference match against Stevenson University at 2:30 p.m. at Weiss Courts.
