WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's tennis team dropped a 5-4 Freedom Conference match at King's (Pa.)c College Saturday. The Monarchs improved to 8-5 overall and 4-0 in the Freedom Conference, while the Knights fell to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Senior
Danielle Riggins (Dorchester, N.J.) and sophomore
Alexandria Broome (South Euclid, Ohio) were 8-3 winners at third doubles for Arcadia over sophomore Maggie Walsh (Honesdale, Pa.) and freshman Molly Conlin (Wilmington, Del.) and then went on to win their respective singles matches.
Broome was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 4 singles over junior Katelyn Rossowski (Allentown, Pa.), while Riggins was a 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 winner over sophomore Lauren DeReinzi (Stratford, Conn.) at No. 5. Freshman Justin Sawyer (Glen Cove, N.Y.) recorded a 6-1, 6-1 victory at sixth-singles over junior Vanessa Wagner (Quakaae, Pa.).
Arcadia will next travel to Moravian College Tuesday for a 4 p.m. non-conference match.
