Box Score WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Senior
Jenna Crothers (Patchogue, N.Y.) broke the Arcadia University women's lacrosse team's single-season scoring record after scoring one goal with a season-high seven assists to lead the Knights to an 18-5 Freedom Conference win at King's College Tuesday.
Arcadia is now 15-1 for the season, setting a new program record for wins in a single season. The previous mark of 14 wins was set this past season. The Knights also secured a home Freedom Conference semifinal game next Wednesday, April 30.
Crothers now has 30 goals and a school-record 68 assists for 98 points this season, and raised her career-record assist total to 104. The previous record of 94 points in a season was set by junior
Haylee Molloy (Holtsville, N.Y.) just a year ago when she scored a school-record 74 goals with 20 assists.
Sophomore
Dawn Faranetta (Randolph, N.J.) scored a game-high five goals with one assist for the Knights (15-1 / 5-0 Freedom), while Molloy tallied four goals with one assist. Molloy now has 234 career points, and is just 12 away from matching the career-scoring record of 247 career points set by Traci Conrad (1994-97).
Junior
Jaclyn Feffer (Montgomery, N.Y.) added two goals with one assist and four draw controls, while junior
Catherine Brown (Howell, N.J.) and sophomore
Adeline Bellesheim (Sparta, N.J.) added two goals each. Senior
Sara Volk-Perez (Mays Landing, N.J.) and sophomore
Jessica Santoli (Elmont, N.Y.) had one goal each.
Sophomore
Jordyn Dunacusky (Conshohocken, Pa.) tallied 11 saves in net as her record improved to 15-0 for the season. Her 15 wins this season are a single-season school record.
Senior Amanda Harney (Neshanic Station, N.J.) and freshman Gabriella Morrocu (Glen Cove, N.Y.) had two goals each for the Monarchs (3-10 / 1-5 Freedom). Senior Jessica Ormrod (West Haven, Conn.) accounted for King's fifth goal. Classmate Courtney Stefanik (Clarence, N.Y.) had six saves in net as her record fell to 3-8.
Arcadia never trailed in the game after scoring each of the first eight goals in the contest. The Knights went on to take a 13-3 lead at the half and then outscored the Monarchs 5-2 in the second.
Arcadia will close out the 2014 regular season Saturday at 1 p.m. when it hosts defending Freedom Conference champion FDU-Florham at Easton Field. The Knights can lock up the top-seed in the conference tournament with a win over the Devils Saturday, or an FDU-Florham loss to Manhattanville College Wednesday.
