Box Score PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team opened the game with a 10-goal run and never looked back on its way to an 23-8 Freedom Conference victory at Manhattanville College Saturday. The Knights improved to 10-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play with the win, while the Valiants fell to 1-10 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Junior
Jaclyn Feffer (Montgomery, N.Y.) and sophomore
Dawn Faranetta (Randolph, N.J.) scored five goals with two assists, two caused turnovers and two ground balls each to lead Arcadia to the win. Feffer added eight draw controls to her stat line.
Senior
Jenna Crothers (Patchogue, N.Y.) added four goals with seven assists, raising her school-record career assist total to 75. Freshman
Erin Misner (Westhampton, N.J.) added three goals and one assist. Senior
Sara Volk-Perez (Mays Landing, N.J.) and junior
Catherine Brown (Howell, N.J.) netted two goals each.
Sophomore
Jordyn Dunacusky (Conshohocken, Pa.) improved her record to 10-0 for the season after making six saves.
Junior Meghann Haggerty (Centerpoint, N.Y.) scored three goals to lead Manhattanville, while seniors Cassandra Honovich (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) and Brooke Marcimo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) added two goals each. Honovich also had a pair of assists and six draw controls in the game. Junior Kirsten Shaughnessy (Le Center, Minn.) took the loss after giving up 20 goals with just six saves in 47 minutes.
The Knights outshot the Valiants 34-19, had a 14-12 advantage in ground balls and secured 18-of-33 draw controls in the game.
Arcadia will return to action Monday when the Knights host a 7 p.m. non-conference game against Lycoming College at Easton Field.
