Men's Soccer Set to Open MAC Commonwealth Championship, Take on Widener Tonight at 7 p.m.

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team is set to host Widener in the Commonwealth Conference play in game tonight on Easton Field at 7 p.m.

Ticketing Information: Per conference policy, all fans must pay admission for playoff contests. Prices are as follows: adults $5, seniors $4, students $2, children under six are free. All students, faculty and staff with a valid Arcadia ID will have their admission paid for courtesy of the athletic department.

Merchandise: Long sleeve t-shirts will be available for purchase for $15 each while supplies last.

Play-In Game - Monday, Nov. 2
Game 1 - No. 5 Widener at No. 4 Arcadia, 7 p.m.

Semifinal Round - Wednesday, Nov. 4
Game 2 - Game 1 Winner at No. 1 Lycoming, 2 p.m.  
Game 3 - No. 3 Lebanon Valley at No. 2 Messiah, 7 p.m.

Final - Saturday, Nov. 7
Game 4 - Game 2 Winner vs. Game 3 Winner at Highest Remaining Seed

About Arcadia: Arcadia clinched the fourth seed in the MAC Commonwealth Championships as it won its final two games to finish the regular season 11-5-3 with a 4-2-2 conference mark. Bradley McKim powered the Knights to a playoff berth as he recorded eight points last week. He scored a goal and assisted on another in Arcadia's 5-0 win over Albright on Wednesday. In Saturday's win-or-go-home match at Hood on Saturday, the Fallston, Md. Native was involved on all three goals scoring two and setting up the other.

Arcadia's Leaders: With 35 points on 15 goals and five assists McKim, has been the driving force behind the Knights' offense. Rookie Ryan Hammer has proved to be a key addition for the Knights, scoring seven goals and handing out a pair of assists for 16 points. Senior David Colombo provides experience in the midfield and has been a major distributor coming off the wing as he has handed out a team-leading seven assists; he's scored four goals for 13 total points. Chris Watson has started every game in goal for Arcadia posting an 11-5-3 record with six shutouts. Watson has 90 saves for a save percentage of .818, he has allowed just 20 goals for a 1.09 goals-against average.
Academic All-District: McKim is the second men's soccer player for the Knights to be selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.

About Widener: The Pride finished the regular season at 8-9-1 with a 4-4 conference mark. It fell to the fifth seed following a 2-0 loss at Lycoming on Saturday. Widener's 1-1 week opened with a 5-0 win over Alvernia on Wednesday. This is first playoff berth for the Pride since 2008.

Widener's Leaders: Tori Remondelli leads the Pride offense with 25 points on 11 goals and three assists. Dylan Pratzer sits second on the team in goals (5) and points (11) and has also handed out an assist. Kevin McKenna has four goals while being tied for second on the team in assists with a pair.David Sousa and Jonathan Rouse have split time in goal. Sousa has played most starting 10 games with a 4-6 record. He has a 0.759 save percentage and 1.40 goals-against average. Rouse has started eight games for a 4-3-1 record. He has a 0.813 save percentage and 0.72 goals against average.

Last Meeting: Played just over a week ago, Widener came to Easton Field and walked out with a 3-1 victory. Ryan Hammer scored in the eighth minute for the Knights, but the hosts could not overcome a three-goal second half by the Pride.

Playoff History:  This marks the Knights' fifth trip to the MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament. The Scarlet and Grey advanced to the Championship Round when it was the second seed in the 2009 tournament; top-seeded Messiah took the match 4-1.  Arcadia is looking for its first conference playoff win since 2009 when it defeated third seeded Elizabethtown 1-0 in the semifinals. The Knights were members of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference from 1992-2006. They made nine conference tournament appearances during that span, winning four conference titles (2001, 2002, 2004, 2006).
