GLENSIDE, Pa. –The Arcadia University women's tennis team won a 7-2 freedom conference match up today against Eastern University improving their record to 4-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference. The Eagles fall to 2-7 and 0-3 in the Freedom Conference.
The Knights picked up two of the three doubles points to start the match. Sophomore
Allyson Naiken and freshman
Kayla Haberbosch were 9-7 winners at No. 2 over senior Angela Anthony sophomore Hannah Reed, while freshman
Sarah Hanley and sophomore
Jennifer Khawam were 8-0 winners at No. 3 doubles over freshman Emily Thomas and freshman Eva Fleisher.
Senior
Viola Sawyer was a winner in straight sets at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2, while senior
Kaila Gaughan was a 6-1, 6-0 winner a No. 3 singles. Haberbosch earned a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles while Khawam picked up her win over Thomas 6-1, 6-1. Hanley downed freshman Eva Fleisher 6-4, 6-2 to close things out at the No. 6 singles spot.
The Knights will be back in action at home on Saturday against Wilkes University for a Freedom Conference match up. First serve is at 10:30 a.m.
