Fourth-Seeded Arcadia to host Fifth-Seeded Albright Monday Night in Commonwealth Conference First Round Game

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The fourth-seeded Arcadia University women's lacrosse team will host fifth-seeded Albright College Monday, April 27, in a Commonwealth Conference Championship Tournament First Round game that will get under way at 7 p.m. at Easton Field.
 
TICKET PRICING: Ticket's for the game are $5 for Adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students, and children under 6-years old are free. Any Arcadia University students, faculty and staff that present a valid Arcadia ID will be admitted free of charge, courtesy of the Athletic Department.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP SHIRTS: 2015 Commonwealth Conference Championship short-sleeve shirts will be available for purchase on-site for $12 each while supplies last.
 
ABOUT ARCADIA: The Knights posted an overall record of 11-6 in 2015 and finished fourth in the final conference standing with a league record of 4-4 in their first season as a member of the Commonwealth Conference. Junior Adeline Bellesheim leads the team in scoring with career-high totals of 39 goals and 25 assists for 64 points, while classmate Dawn Faranetta is second with 38 goals and 18 assists for 56 points. Senior Haylee Molloy has totaled 33 goals and 18 assists for 51 points so far this year, and is just three points shy of becoming the first 300-point scorer in program history. Junior Jordyn Dunacusky is 10-5 in goal for Arcadia this season, posting a 9.61 goals against average and a .500 save percentage while totaling 133 save so far this year.
 
ARCADIA IN THE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT: This marks the third straight conference tournament appearance for the Knights, who won the 2014 Freedom Conference title, marking Arcadia's first team title since the Middle Atlantic Conferences in 2007-08, and was the programs first conference title since taking home the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference crown in 1996. Arcadia is 5-2 all-time in conference tournament play with three conference titles to its credit (1995, 1996, 2014).
 
ABOUT ALBRIGHT: The Lions posted an overall record of 9-7 in 2015, which included a 3-5 record in the Commonwealth Conference. Albright entered the final day of the regular season needing a win over Hood College and promptly defeated the Blazers 15-6, placing it in a tie with Widener and Alvernia. The Lions won the tiebreaker between the three teams to advance to the Commonwealth Conference tournament for the first time in program history. Erin Farrell is the team's leading scorer with 43 goals and five assists for 48 points, while Amanda Smith is a close second with 40 goals and six assists for 46 points. Mariah Cullen has 18 goals and a team-best 16 assists for 34 points on the year, while Emily Hutson is 9-7 in goal with a 10.14 goals against average and a .411 save percentage.
 
LAST MEETING: The Knights staked themselves to a 9-3 lead early in the second half before holding on for an 11-10 win over Albright back on April 1 at Easton Field. Arcadia freshman Nicole Hutson scored her only goal of the game, which proved to be the game-winner, with nine minutes to go, beating her older sister Emily Hutson, for her 20th goal of the year. The Lions closed the game with a three-goal run, pulling within one on Danielle Carey's third goal of the game with 1:11 remaining on the clock. Farrell got the draw control that followed, but Arcadia senior Dana Roessler dislodged the ball from Albright's Meghan Wilson and Nicole Hutson picked up the ground ball for the Knights, who were then able to clear the ball and run out the clock to secure the win.
 
UP NEXT: The winner of tonight's game will travel to top-seeded and 16th-ranked Messiah College Thursday for a 4 p.m. Commonwealth Conference Championship Semifinal match. The other semifinal will feature second-seeded Stevenson University and third-seeded Lebanon Valley College. The two semifinal winners will meet for the 2015 Commonwealth Conference Championship Game Saturday at the highest remaining seed.
