Complete ResultsCHESTER, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's swimming team dropped a 153-108 Middle Atlantic Conference dual meet at Widener University Monday night. It was the final dual meet of the 2015-16 campaign for both teams.
The Knights posted a 7-3 dual meet record this season, setting a new program record for dual meet wins in a season. Included in that mark was a perfect 6-0 record at Lenox Pool. The Pride closed the season at 9-3.
Senior
Timothy Graham and freshman
Michael Melissen posted a 1-2 finish in the 200 butterfly with respective times of 2:01.67 and 2:12.31, while junior
Eric Lam and Melissen went 1-2 in the 200 backstroke with respective times of 2:03.31 and 2:08.19. Graham later won the 200 IM in 2:02.34, while Lam took second in 2:02.77 after being the runner-up in the 100 backstroke after registering a time of 56.56 seconds.
Sophomore
Grant Fisher opened the individual events with a victory in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:21.86, and later won the 500 freestyle in 5:06.85 to sweep the distance events. He was also the top finisher in the 200 freestyle, finishing third with a time of 1:51.94.
Freshman
Andrew Givone was in the two tightest races of the evening, winning the 200 breaststroke by .12 seconds after touching the wall in 2:20.54 after being the runner-up in the 100 breaststroke by just nine-tenths of a second after clocking in at 1:04.10. Sophomore
Jacob Schellinger led the way in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, finishing third in both with respective times of 22.82 seconds and 51.68 seconds. He also took third I the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.74 seconds.
The Knights will return to action when they compete at the 2016 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, while will take place February 11-14 at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa.
