WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's tennis team posted a 5-4 MAC Commonwealth victory at Lycoming College Sunday for its first win of the 2015-16 season. The Knights are now 1-11 overall, and evened their conference record at 1-1 for the year. The Warriors record fell to 4-7 overall, and are also now 1-1 on conference play.
Arcadia trailed 2-1 following doubles play, with the lone win coming at No. 2 where freshmen
Zoe Foglia and
Nicole Shulman were 8-6 winners over Kimerleigh Parroccini and Brittany Lenze. That score easily could have been flipped as juniors
Allyson Naiken and
Megan Obarowski were edged 9-7 by Kaitlin Hallabuk and Sophie Herzing at No. 1 doubles.
Naiken went on to defeat Herzing at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-3, and Obarowski won at No. 3 singles against Parroccini 6-3, 6-1. Junior
Amy MacNeill defeated Mariah Durrant 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles and Shulman notched a 6-3, 6-1 win over Lenze at No. 6 singles.
The Knights return to action Wednesday with a MAC Commonwealth match at Lebanon Valley College.
