Five Goal Second Half Powers Men’s Soccer’s Win over FDU-Florham

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Five different players found the back of the net for the Arcadia University men's soccer team, as it cruise to a 6-0 win over FDU-Florham Saturday afternoon on Jean Lenox West Field.
 
FOR THE RECORD: The Knights head to conference play with a 6-1-1 overall record, while the Devils fell to 0-8.
 
HOW IT HAPPENS: Midway through the first half Arcadia showed began to show its offensive potency as senior Georges Fiori challenged the Devil just shy of a minute before sophomore Shade Foreman found the back of the net off an assist from junior Ryan Hammer. Hammer connected with senior Bradley McKim just over a minute into the second half to put the Knights up two and spark a highly effective final 45 minutes.
 
The goal was the first of three shots on target over the half's first 10 minutes. Devil goalkeeper JT Bretschneider was called for a foul and given a yellow card in the 65th minute, leading to Hammer converting his third penalty kick of the year. Arcadia continued to pepper the goal with shots before scoring on each of its final three attempts. Freshman Harun Abdullahi found the back of the net in the 85th and 90th minute, while senior Ryan Keeter net his second of the year in the 87th minute.
 
ARCADIA LEADERS: Hammer totaled four points on the day with a goal and two assists; he took five shots in the contest. In addition to his goal, Keeter handed out an assist for three points. Abullahi found the back of the net twice, while McKim scored once.
 
IN GOAL: Senior Chris Watson (6-1-1) earned the clean sheet after making five saves. Bretschneider (0-8) took the loss after allowing six goals and making seven saves.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Knights more than doubled the Devils in shots (25-11), shots on goal (13-5), and corner kicks (8-3). The visitors were called for nine fouls, while Arcadia was called for six.
