WILKES-BARRE, Pa. –
Julia Paraboschi was the runner up of No. 3 singles, as the Arcadia women's tennis team concluded play in the MAC Individual Championship on Sunday.
Paraboschi faced Allyson Wolf of FDU-Florham in the semifinals. Paraboschi defeated Wolf, 6-0, 6-3 to advance to the final. In the final, Paraboschi faced Francesca Valera-Seri of Wilkes, coming up short falling 6-1, 6-0. She is the first Arcadia women's tennis player to reach the finals in singles play of the MAC Individual Championship.
In all, the Knights had five players reach the semifinals of singles play, which is also the first time that any Arcadia women's tennis player reached the semifinals of the MAC Individual Championship.
Tess Weber fell in the semifinals of No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-3 to Lizza Gonzales of Manhanttanville.
In No.4 singles,
Emily Cruz-Pineda fell in the semifinals to Kira Bradley from FDU-Florham, 6-3, 6-3.
Laryssa Badulak came up short of advancing to the finals of No. 6 singles, falling in the semifinals to Sarah Malone of Wilkes, 6-2. 6-3.
Sarah Rosario, who was in the semifinals of No. 7 singles, fell to Hannah Murray of Messiah, 7-5, 6-2.
The Knights will return to action for the spring portion of their schedule, which will begin on Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. against Ursinus.
