Seniors Power Field Hockey Past Hood; Livingston Becomes Program's All-Time Wins Leader

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University field hockey team netted a season-high eight goals from seven different goal-scorers in a dominant Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth victory over Hood Saturday afternoon, 8-0. Four of the eight scores came from seniors on the program's Senior Day, as Adera Ahern scored twice while Sydney Cyr and Isabelle Houser tallied one each. The Knights held Hood to zero shots and penalty corners in the effort while racking up a season-high 32 penalty corners.

The win was the 108th for head coach Erin Livingston, making her the Arcadia field hockey program's all-time leader.

The Knights' shutout of Hood was the fourth-straight as Arcadia ran its win streak to eight against the Blazers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights were dominant from start to finish in Saturday's conference clash, beginning with Ahern's first of two goals on the day just six minutes in after fielding a pass from Houser in front of the cage. Cyr followed suit nearly five minutes later with a powerful strike that gave the Knights an early two-goal advantage.

-Carly Flickinger scored the first of three second-quarter goals for the Knights four minutes into the period on an assist from Ahern, who followed up her assist with her second goal of the game moments later. Two minutes later, Regan Sammons found the back of the cage after controlling a loose ball while surrounded by several Hood defenders to send the Knights to halftime with a five-goal lead.

-Mickie March started the second-half scoring five minutes into the third with her fifth goal of the season to place her in a tie for second on the team for the season. Less than a minute later, Ahern found Lauren Dougherty deep in the Hood third who then turned and fired a shot past the goalkeeper for her first goal of 2019.

-After having a high-arcing shot that found the back of the cage but was called off, Houser redeemed herself on the following possession with the Knights' eighth and final goal of the afternoon as the senior logged her first goal of the year.
