Pioneers Trump Knights 7-2

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Alex Volkov picked up her first career win as Carroll knocked off the Arcadia women's tennis team 7-2 on Sunday.

The freshman picked up her first collegiate singles win with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Jenna Boeck for Arcadia's lone singles point. Casey Boldt fell in three sets to Allison Krusa at No. 4 singles, while each of AU's other singles players fell in straight sets.

The Pioneers opened by winning 2 of 3 doubles points. Emily Cruz-Pineda and Maeghan Myers made sure it wasn't a sweep at doubles, earning an 8-2 win at No. 3.

Arcadia will take on Marietta on Monday beginning at 5 p.m.
