GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University Department of Athletics and Recreation hosted its seventh-annual golf outing at Old York Road Country Club on Monday, August 10. The outing, which featured 111 golfers, raises funds to benefit the department and its nearly 500 student-athletes.
The Knights' annual golf outing has grown immensely since its inaugural event in 2014, as the 2020 edition marked the fifth-consecutive year of 100 or more registered golfers to support the department's 26 varsity programs.

"Thank you to all of the participants for working with us on the date change, as well as all of the safety measures that were put in place to make this event run for a seventh year," said Assistant Director of Athletics, Michael Hebenstreit. "This event is not a success with all of the supporters that come back year after year, as well as the newcomers that we look forward to continuing relationships with."
The outing, held at member-only Old York Road Country Club, featured breakfast, an 18-hole morning shotgun start, lunch, an 18-hole afternoon shotgun start, cocktail hour, and dinner. The golf portion of the day had a number of different contests that tested the various skills of the participating golfers, including a putting contest and closest to the pin competitions, among others.Â
The team of Chris Merce, Hebenstreit, and Peter Lusk won the scramble format tournament with a score of 60, good for 11-under par.Â
