DALLAS, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's swimming team picked up its second Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) dual meet victory Saturday at Misericordia, defeating the host Cougars 148-110.
Shane Stauffer led the Knights with victories in the 50-yd and 100-yd freestlye events while also contributing to first-place finishes in the 200-yd medley and 200-yd freestyle relays.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights men kicked off their dual meet against Misericordia in convincing fashion with a dominant win in the 200-yd medley relay. The quartet of Stauffer,
George Wade,
Janis Kirsis, and
Carlos Pinga touched first in a season-best time of 1:39.43.
-The next first place finish for the Knights came in the 200-yd freestyle asÂ
Dylan Alexander came from behind to seal the victory in a season-best time of 1:53.28. Alexander executed a smart race and was able to reel in his opponent from Misericordia with a strong back half.
-Kirsis continued the momentum in the 50-yd backstroke with a winning time of 25.65, while Pinga contributed additional first-place points two events later in the 200-yd butterfly.
-The Knights continued to extend their lead throughout the rest of the meet with Stauffer claiming victories in both the 50-yd and 100-yd freestyle. Kirsis contributed another win in the 200-yd backstroke and Pinga,
Tyler Mui, and
Daniel Ross swept the 50-yd butterfly fiinishing first through third.
-The Knights capped the meet with a win in the 200-yd freestyle relay with the foursome of Erdman, Pinga, Mui, and Stauffer touching first in a time of 1:29.72.
