GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's tennis team makes its long-awaited return to the court Saturday at DeSales to open the 2021 season, the first of ten dual matches on the Knights' spring schedule. The Knights' veteran-led roster positions the program to reach new heights in search of a MAC Freedom title.

"We are so fortunate and excited to be starting back to competition in over a year," head coach Pam Rendé remarked. "Under the expert guidance of strength and conditioning, the players look physically strong and are ready to compete at a high level on the court. The combined experience of our returning seniors Tess Weber, Casey Boldt, and Emily Cruz-Pineda blended with the addition of strong new talent to our rosters adds key strengths and depth to our doubles and singles ladders."
Â
Boldt enters her fourth season after putting together a string of solid performances last fall. The senior advanced to the championship match of the third singles ladder at the King's Invitational in September 2019 and the quarterfinals of the MAC Individual Championships in both the third singles and second doubles brackets.
Weber, the Knights' leader at first singles a season ago, aims to build off of her success after putting together solid showings at the 2019 ITA Regionals and MAC Individual Championships.Â
"We're also excited to welcome back
Julia Paraboschi and for the addition of a strong first-year class to add depth to our lineup, including
Keely Ochs and
Haley Finelli," Rendé continued. "The experience of our upperclassmen has enabled them not only to return to play ready, but stronger and faster."Â
Following Saturday's season-opener at DeSales, the Knights travel to Stevenson the following week before welcoming Hood to Glenside for the home-opener on Saturday, April 3.
