Oliver Moe Named Coordinator of Student-Athlete Success and Leadership

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the addition of Oliver Moe to the department's support staff as the Coordinator of Student-Athlete Success & Leadership. He will begin his role on Wednesday, June 16.

Moe's position is being funded as part of the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant, which supports full-time, entry-level athletics positions for two academic years in an effort to expand representation within athletics administration.

Moe will be responsible for enhancing the academic monitoring of student-athletes with a focus on at-risk student-athletes or those in academic difficulty. He will be charged with implementing a leadership development program that fosters critical skills in student-athletes. Additionally, Moe will support the Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee (ADID) in developing and implementing key programming in the areas of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion for athletics staff and student-athletes.

"It's a tremendous honor to be named the Coordinator of Student-Athlete Success and Leadership at Arcadia," Moe said. "As an impact-driven professional, this role excites me as it allows me to continue living out my passion for building inclusive environments where everyone in the community can flourish. I'm truly eager to help promote the growth and development of our student-athletes and to positively contribute to the Arcadia community. I'd like to thank Brian Granata, the search committee, and the athletic department for demonstrating commitment to this position and the search process."

Moe arrives in Glenside following a two-year stint with the Cooper Athletics Leadership Program at Georgetown University where he was part of the inaugural McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative cohort, a coach-driven program designed to create access and opportunity for minorities with demonstrated leadership potential in college athletics. The Bronx, N.Y. native was named a 'Future Leader' through the McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative in September 2020.

Moe also served as a graduate assistant with the Student-Athlete Academic Support staff while at Georgetown, providing counseling and advising services for the Hoyas' men's lacrosse program.

Prior to his time at Georgetown, Moe attended Colgate University where he was a four-year member of the Raiders' NCAA Division I Track & Field program and served as a team captain during the 2018-19 season. He was also a Raiders of Color Connect Ambassador, an organization that developed programming for student-athletes of color to enhance the experience of the Colgate community. Additionally, Moe was the Patriot League male representative at the 2017 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum.

"Oliver is an emerging leader in the field of student-athlete development that has a great passion for leadership programming, social justice, academic support, and student-athlete activism," Executive Director of Athletics Brian Granata said. "He had the opportunity to work with and learn from a tremendous mentor in Dr. Maya Ozery, and we are confident that his experiences at Georgetown will greatly benefit the Arcadia community. I look forward to seeing how his contributions will enhance the experience of our student-athletes while advancing our ongoing and important work in these key areas."

Moe graduated from Colgate with a bachelor's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies and Asian Studies in May 2019 before earning his Master of Professional Studies in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown in August 2020.
