Women's Swimming Sets New Program Record in Day One of Misericordia Invite

Dallas, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's swim team sits in 4th place after session one of the Misericordia Cougar Splash Invitational on Friday evening. Session one included the first five events in which several Knights recorded season best times.

In the first event of the day Mikayla Scardino, Julia Stephens, Claire Hamilton, and Sarah Ritter finished third in the 200-yard freestyle relay, setting a new program record by .19 seconds. The previous record was set by Kayla Drago, Eunice Ardamo, Megan Hupp, and Rachel Samson in 2017.

SESSION ONE SCORES

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Scardino touched the wall second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.44, dropping .05 seconds for a new personal best time.

- Stephens finished in fourth (24.94) in the 50-freestyle for a new personal best time, cutting one tenth of a second off her previous best from the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships last season.

- Ritter recorded a season best time in the 50-yard freestyle event, dropping .74 off of her previous season best and just .04 away from her personal best time.

- Hamilton cut an impressive 15.98 seconds off of her 500-yard freestyle time, earning herself a new season best time of 5:30.03.

- The 400-yard medley relay squad of Stephens, Risa Krauss, Olivia Hyde, and Scardino touched the wall first for a time of 4:01.85. Scardino brought the relay back home with a 52.79 to top Misercordia.
