GLENSIDE, Pa. – Led by a new head coach, the Arcadia University men's volleyball team kicks off its 2023 season on Wednesday, as it heads to Lancaster Bible College.
Head Coach Adam Hamad comes to Glenside after most recently serving as the Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach at the University of Charleston in Charleston, W.V. since 2020.
"As we look at the season and what's coming, we're really excited for the challenges that we face," Hamad said.
The Knights return 11 players from last season, where the Knights posted a 7-6 record in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), including winning their first-round matchup against Alvernia in the MAC Tournament.
"A lot of returners have a lot of match experience," Hamad said. "A lot of guys have played in different roles at different times of the season last year, and years previous, so I think they're going to come in and do some great things."
Five of the top six kill-getters from last season return, including
Owen Heft, who was second on the team in kills with 213. He was also first on the team in digs with 141.
Ryan Miller was fifth on the team in kills with 102, but led the team in total blocks with 69.
The Knights welcome four first-years to the team for 2023. Libero,

Andrew Ahn.
After Wednesday's season-opener with Lancaster Bible College, the Knights look forward to their home opener, as they welcome Rutgers-Newark to Alumni Gymnasium. Arcadia's first MAC matches are on Thursday, Feb. 9 as they take on Widener and Wilkes in a tri-match.
