Myers Named Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach

GLENSIDE - The Arcadia University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the hiring of Bruce Myers as the new Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach. Myers will begin his duties on January 29th.

"I would like to thank AD Brian Granata, Associate AD Brett Mariani, and the search committee for putting their trust in me to lead the Arcadia men's and women's tennis programs," Myers said.

Myers comes to Arcadia after most recently serving as the Assistant Men's Tennis Coach at Temple University where he was responsible for coordinating recruiting, fundraising, community service, scheduling and travel. Also, while at Temple, he contributed to the program's seven-win improvement in 2022-23 where they finished 19-5 overall and helped the Owls achieve the highest national ranking in program history.

"We are pleased to welcome Coach Myers into the Arcadia Athletics community," Executive Director of Athletics Brian Granata said. "Coach Myers has extensive coaching experience at multiple levels within the NCAA. His passion for the sport is quite evident, and we look forward to seeing our program grow under his capable leadership."

Prior to his time at Temple, Myers was the Head Men's Tennis Coach at Bucknell University where he led them to their best conference finish in the 2018-19 season since 2013 and recorded the highest team GPA for four consecutive semesters. Before Bucknell, he was the Head Men's Tennis Coach at the University of Delaware. There he ended the team's 34-match losing streak. Prior to his time at Delaware, he served as the Head Women's Tennis Coach at Longwood University, where he improved the team's record from 3-12 to 10-13 in 2014-15 resulting in recognition as the SAAC Coach of the Year from Longwood student-athlete leadership. He also served as an adjunct professor at Longwood. Previous to Longwood, Myers was the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at North Carolina A&T State University and before that he was an Assistant Tennis Coach at Immaculata University.

"I am very excited to join the dedicated and welcoming athletes, staff and environment at Arcadia," explained Myers. "There is such unlimited potential in growing and developing the men's and women's tennis programs and having them compete for a conference championship each season."

Myers played on the men's tennis team and graduated from Randolph-Macon College with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Economics. He is currently earning his Masters in Sports Business from Temple University.
