GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's swim team earned its second consecutive victory of the season, defeating Messiah University 160–102 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Knights improved to 2–2 overall and 2–2 in MAC competition. Francis Andersen, Matthew Drake, and Alex Pasquarello each captured individual victories, while Arcadia also claimed wins in both relay events.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The 400-yard medley relay team of Christopher Stanaway, Chris Carroll, Andersen, and Kajuan Haughton earned the first win of the day for the Knights in the second event, finishing with a time of 3:47.22.
• Francis Andersen claimed first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.74 and added a runner-up finish in the 100-yard butterfly (59.39).
• Matthew Drake picked up two individual wins, taking the 50-yard backstroke in 25.23 and the 100-yard freestyle in 49.87. Drake also led off the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay team.
• Haughton contributed to both winning relay teams and added two individual runner-up finishes—second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.21) and second in the 50-yard butterfly (25.22).
• Stanaway recorded two second-place finishes, touching at 30.03 in the 50-yard breaststroke and 56.00 in the 100-yard backstroke.
• Jordan Green finished third in the 50-yard backstroke (28.44) and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.77).
• Michael Sanchez placed third in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.89) and fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.00).
• Carroll earned third place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.48) and second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.67).
• Mikalai Yakhimchyk finished fourth in the 50-yard breaststroke (31.07) and third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.53).
• Owen Foley placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.57), fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (55.70), and second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:18.76).
• Tommy Tubinas earned runner-up honors in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:53.57), placed third in the 100-yard freestyle (54.00), and took fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:32.02).
• George Mitev touched third in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:58.64), third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.10), and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.18).
• AJ Benowitz recorded a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard backstroke (30.14), fourth in the 200-yard IM (2:16.33), and fifth in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:11.42).
• Pasquarello earned two individual victories, winning the 100-yard butterfly (56.03) and the 50-yard butterfly (25.19).
• The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Drake, Haughton, Stanaway, and Sanchez closed the meet with a first-place finish at 1:34.37.
