YORK, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's swimming team competed in day two of the Spartan Splash hosted by York College of Pennsylvania, and after finishing in fourth place on Friday, the men find themselves still in fourth place in the seven-team field with 335 points. Individually,
Matthew Drake was the top finisher for the Knights with a third place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a prelim time of 53.01 and then a finals time of 53.52. In the relays, Arcadia had two teams finish second. In the 200-yard medley relay the team of
Christopher Stanaway, Drake,
Alex Pasquarello, and
Kajuan Haughton finished second with a time of 1:36.90 and the 800-yard freestyle relay team of
Francis Andersen,
Tommy Tubinas,
Owen Foley, and Drake also touched second at 7:27.82.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 200-yard relay, the first race of the day for the men, Stanaway, Drake, Pasquarello, and Haughton touched second at 1:36.90. in the same race, Jordan Green, Mikalai Yakhimchyk, Owen Foley, and Tommy Tubinas finished 10th at 1:45.24.
- In the 400-yard IM A-Finals, AJ Benowitz finished 5th with a time of 4:33.15, improving from his prelim time by two seconds. Chris Carroll was not far behind with a 7th place finish at 4:35.69. In the B-Final, Mikalai Yakhimchyk touched at 11th with a time of 4:37.93.
- The 100-yard butterfly, Alex Pasquarello and Francis Andersen finished 4th and 5th respectively, separted by .03 tenths of a second at 53.15 and 53.18 in the A-Final.
- Tommy Tubinas finished 7th in the A-Final in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:54.16. Owen Foley competed in the B-Finals and finished 12th at 1:54.60.
- Drake took home a third place finish in the 100-yard backstroke, with an A-Finals time of 53.52. Jordan Green was in the B-Finals and finished 12th at 1:02.28.
- In the final race of the evening, the 800-yard freestyle relay, the team of Francis Andersen, Tommy Tubinas, Owen Foley and Matthew Drake touched second for the Knights at 7:27.82.
