CARLISLE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's swimming team traveled to Dickinson College on Friday evening for a non-conference dual meet. The Knights (2-3, 2-2 MAC) fell to the host Red Devils, 143-59. Matthew Drake led the way for Arcadia with a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Matthew Drake secured the Knights' lone individual win, touching first in the 50-yard freestyle at 22.31. He also claimed second place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.70.
• The 200-yard medley relay team of Christopher Stanaway, Drake, Francis Andersen, and Kajuan Haughton placed second with a 1:39.56 finish. The relay group of AJ Benowitz, Mikalai Yakhimchyk, Alex Pasquarello, and Jordan Green took fourth in the same event at 1:49.26.
• Tommy Tubinas earned third in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:30.10) and third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.72), while also swimming the second leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay with Owen Foley, Johnny Pierce, and George Mitev.
• George Mitev finished the 1000-yard freestyle at 10:48.65 and competed in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:14.98.
• Foley finished the 200-yard freestyle in 1:58.44 and swam a 56.72 in the 100-yard butterfly.
• Andersen finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.20) and third in the 100-yard butterfly (54.20).
• Yakhimchyk placed second in the 200-yard IM at 2:09.84 and added a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (53.27).
• Green competed in the 100-yard backstroke (1:11.40) and the 100-yard freestyle (54.90).
• Michael Sanchez recorded a 53.77 in the 100-yard freestyle and a 1:09.30 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
• Pierce finished the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:42.36 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:45.34.
• Benowitz posted a 2:15.22 in the 200-yard IM and a 5:21.56 in the 500-yard freestyle.
• Haughton finished the 50-yard freestyle in 23.31 and the 100-yard freestyle in 53.20.
• Pasquarello recorded times of 2:02.91 in the 200-yard freestyle and 56.33 in the 100-yard butterfly.
