KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's swimming team returned to action Saturday afternoon, taking on NCAA Division II foe Kutztown University. The Knights (2-4, 2-2 MAC) fell to the host Bears, 165–95. Christopher Stanaway led Arcadia with two individual victories, while the relay team of Stanaway, Matthew Drake, Alex Pasquarello, and Kajuan Haughton claimed a win in the 200-yard medley relay.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• In the 200-yard medley relay, Stanaway, Drake, Pasquarello, and Haughton won the event with a time of 1:40.88. The team of Jordan Green, Mikalai Yakhimchyk, Owen Foley, and Michael Sanchez placed third at 1:49.63.
• In the 1000-yard freestyle, Chris Carroll took third at 10:46.03, George Mitev finished fifth at 11:04.47, and Tommy Tubinas placed sixth at 11:16.72.
• In the 200-yard freestyle, the trio of Owen Foley (1:56.03), Braeden Wolf (2:01.16), and Johnny Pierce (2:09.07) finished consecutively in fourth, fifth, and sixth place.
• Stanaway won the 100-yard backstroke in 55.26. Sanchez placed fifth in 1:00.48, and Green took sixth in 1:06.89.
• Matthew Drake finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:02.75, while Yakhimchyk touched fourth at 1:07.68.
• In the 200-yard butterfly, Francis Andersen placed second at 2:02.78, followed by Pasquarello in third (2:06.80) and AJ Benowitz in fourth (2:14.17).
• Drake placed second in the 50-yard freestyle at 22.73. Haughton was third in 23.40, and Green finished sixth in 24.85.
• In the 100-yard freestyle, Andersen led Arcadia with a third-place finish at 54.02. Pierce followed in fourth (57.48), with Haughton in fifth (1:00.70).
• Stanaway earned his second individual win in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:06.82. Sanchez placed fourth at 2:17.99.
• Yakhimchyk (2:27.22), Carroll (2:29.03), and Benowitz (2:38.45) finished third through fifth, respectively, in the 200-yard breaststroke.
• Tubinas was Arcadia's top finisher in the 500-yard freestyle, placing third at 5:12.82. Andersen followed in fourth (5:19.27), and Wolf added a sixth-place finish (5:33.74).
• In the 100-yard butterfly, Pasquarello led the Knights with a third-place time of 53.81. Foley placed fourth in 57.11, and Mitev took sixth in 59.58.
• Carroll placed third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:12.49. Yakhimchyk finished fourth (2:13.10), and Benowitz was fifth (2:18.31).
• In the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay, Drake, Stanaway, Tubinas, and Andersen finished second at 3:27.88. The team of Sanchez, Pierce, Wolf, and Foley placed fourth at 3:43.39.
