GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's wrestling team wrapped up day two of competition at the Petrofes Invitational hosted by Messiah University. The Knights had two wrestlers in action on Saturday, as Caden Frost (149 pounds) and Aidan Murray (197 pounds) returned to the mat following strong opening-day performances.
Frost, who went 3–0 on Friday, closed out the tournament with a 1–2 record on day two and secured a fifth-place finish after earning a sudden-victory takedown in a 10–7 decision over NYU's John Mairano. Murray, who entered the day 2–1, dropped his consolation semifinal match and later fell in the seventh-place bout to Isaiah Manning of Greensboro, finishing eighth overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Frost opened the tournament with a 17–1 tech fall over Daniel Pierce (Messiah).
• He followed with a 19–2 tech fall against Miguel Arcilia Londono (Bridgewater State).
• Frost continued his dominant start with a 17–1 tech fall over Eoghan Ohara (Muhlenberg).
• In the semifinals, Jake Mitchell (Gettysburg) held off Frost in a tight 4–3 decision — Frost's first loss of the season.
• Frost then fell to Dalton Monger (Messiah), regionally ranked sixth, by fall at 2:23.
• In the fifth-place match, Frost earned a late point in the third period to force sudden victory. In overtime, he secured the decisive takedown to defeat John Mairano (NYU), 10–7, and claim fifth place.
• Murray opened his tournament with an 8–4 decision over Tim Eddinger (Messiah).
• He then dropped a match to Oliver Parker (Springfield) by fall at 4:30.
• Murray rebounded with a 4–1 decision over Isaiah Durham (Messiah).
• In the consolation bracket, Murray fell to Christian Curley (Bridgewater State), ranked fifth regionally, by first-period fall at 1:20.
• Competing for seventh place, Murray was defeated by ranked fourth regionally Isaiah Manning (Greensboro), who earned a 10–6 decision to place Murray eighth.
