Barrett Belote Named Director of Campus Recreation

GLENSIDE - The Arcadia University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the hiring of Barrett Belote as the new Director of Campus Recreation. Belote will begin his duties at Arcadia on Monday, September 15.

"I want to thank Associate Vice President of Athletics Brian Granata, Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Events Jenna Adams, and the entire hiring committee for their clear communication and patience throughout this process," Belote explained. I know the start of the semester is a busy time, and after meeting with everyone it was clear to me that Arcadia is where I want to be."

Belote comes to Glenside after spending the last six years at University of Tennessee at Martin, most recently as the Coordinator for Facilities and Fitness. In this role, Belote was responsible for supervising the Student Recreation Center, collaborating with the city of Martin on special events, coordinating fitness classes and events on campus, facility maintenance, and other tasks as assigned.

"Throughout our interview process, Barrett's passion for campus recreation really showed," Granata said. "We are confident that he will energize our program and create great opportunities for faculty, staff, and students throughout our campus community. Barrett also appreciates the importance of collaboration, and we believe that he will help strengthen our relationships with campus partners through his unique work experiences."

Prior to his role as Coordinator for Facilities and Fitness, Belote served as an Admissions Counselor and Campus Visit Counselor at UT-Martin. As an admissions counselor, Belote traveled to high schools, college fairs, and recruiting events both out of state and in Eastern Tennessee. He also coordinated campus visits for prospective students and trained student ambassadors to conduct high-quality tours of the campus community.

"I am thrilled to begin this new journey at Arcadia", said Belote. "Campus Recreation is something I truly love, and I am so thankful for the chance to continue pursuing my passions in recreation and athletics here. I can't wait to meet the students, staff, and the entire Arcadia team."

Belote graduated from UT-Martin in 2019 with a degree in Business Management and earned a Master's in Higher Education Leadership in 2021. Since graduating, Belote has served as a broadcaster for UT-Martin's events on ESPN+, helping cover baseball, soccer, and volleyball.
