GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's swimming team earned a decisive 193–69 victory over Stevenson University on Saturday in a dual meet at home. The Knights improved to 3–4 overall and 3–2 in conference action and were led by strong relay performances and multiple individual wins across the lineup.
Arcadia opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as Christopher Stanaway, Chris Carroll, Owen Foley, and Tommy Tubinas set the tone early. Individually, the Knights collected victories from Tubinas, Frances Andersen, Stanaway, Matthew Drake, Mikalai Yakhimchyk, and Braden Wolf.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Stanaway, Carroll, Foley, and Tubinas kicked off the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay, touching first at 3:53.01. The relay team of Michael Sanchez, Mikalai Yakhimchyk, AJ Benowitz, and Johnny Pierce finished third at 3:58.84.
• Tommy Tubinas captured first place in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:54.83, while Foley finished second (10:59.80) and Benowitz placed fourth (11:04.76).
• Frances Andersen won the 200-yard freestyle at 1:54.62, followed by Braden Wolf in second (1:55.51) and Pierce in fifth (2:06.43).
• Stanaway took first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.32, while Sanchez finished second (1:00.12) and Jordan Green placed fifth (1:04.57).
• Matthew Drake won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:04.30, with Yakhimchyk finishing second (1:06.46) and Pierce fifth (1:18.54).
• Andersen added another win in the 200-yard butterfly, touching first at 2:07.27. Benowitz finished second (2:15.78), and Foley completed the sweep in third (2:17.70).
• In the 50-yard freestyle, Drake claimed first place with a time of 23.01, followed by Kajuan Haughton in second (23.60) and Green in fifth (25.72).
• Drake secured another victory in the 100-yard freestyle at 49.38, while Wolf finished fourth (53.50) and Haughton fifth (53.55).
• Stanaway won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:04.73, Sanchez placed second (2:15.97), and Green finished fourth (2:27.46).
• Yakhimchyk earned first place in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:24.26, with Carroll finishing second (2:28.01) and Pierce sixth (2:46.35).
• In the 500-yard freestyle, Wolf touched first at 5:07.32, Carroll followed in second (5:15.46), and Tubinas completed the sweep in third (5:15.55).
• Andersen took first in the 100-yard butterfly, while Foley finished second.
• In the 200-yard individual medley, Yakhimchyk placed second (2:13.17), Carroll third (2:14.18), and Benowitz fourth (2:18.61).
• Arcadia closed the meet with a strong showing in the 200-yard freestyle relay, finishing first and second with times of 1:32.88 and 1:36.99, respectively.
