NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced its latest weekly awards, and Arcadia University swept the men's volleyball honors. Senior Josh Clendening was named MAC Offensive Player of the Week, while sophomore Reece Dodd earned Defensive Player of the Week recognition.
Clendening paced the Knights with 35 kills across two matches. In a 3-0 sweep of Widener on the road, he recorded 13 kills, added three service aces, and hit .435, while also contributing two digs. He followed that performance with a career effort in a five-set match against Eastern, totaling 22 kills and 15 digs, along with two service aces, while hitting .260. The 22 kills marked a new career high for the Langhorne, Pennsylvania, native.
On the season, Clendening ranks second on the team with 174 kills, averaging 2.72 kills per set, and leads the Knights with 25 service aces. This marks his first MAC Player of the Week honor.
Dodd anchored the Knights defensively, totaling 12 blocks on the week. He opened with five blocks (one solo, four assists) in the win at Widener, while also adding six kills and hitting .333. In the match against Eastern, Dodd recorded seven blocks (one solo, six assists) and contributed 15 kills, hitting .290.
Dodd is tied for the team lead with 46 total blocks, averaging 0.75 blocks per set, and ranks fourth on the team with 111 kills. This is the first MAC Player of the Week honor of his career.
