NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its latest Players of the Week, with Arcadia University softball senior Caity Hinton earning MAC Freedom Player of the Week honors.
Hinton, a native of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, played a key role in helping the Knights to a 3-3 record on the week. Arcadia wrapped up its spring break trip in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with a 3-1 mark before opening MAC Freedom play.
At the plate, Hinton was dominant, hitting .750 (9-for-12) with a .714 on-base percentage and a .833 slugging percentage, finishing the week with a 1.547 OPS. She recorded five RBI, a double, and a run scored, while also contributing a hit-by-pitch and a sacrifice bunt. Notably, Hinton did not strike out over the six-game stretch.
Through 10 games this season, Hinton is batting .542, which ranks second on both the team and in the conference. She has totaled 13 hits in 24 at-bats with seven RBI.
This marks the first Player of the Week honor of Hinton's career.
