KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's golf 'B Team' competed in the opening round of the Albright Fall Invitational at Berkleigh Golf Club on Friday. The Knights carded a 344 (+56) as a team and were led by Hayden Williamson, who fired a 9-over 81 and currently sits tied for 27th. Berkleigh Golf Club is a par-72 course playing 6,729 yards.
Williamson carded an 81, shooting a 38 on the front nine and a 43 on the back nine. He opened with back-to-back pars before dropping a stroke on the third hole, but quickly got it back with a birdie on the par-4 fourth. He closed out the front nine with two more pars. On the back nine, Williamson opened with two more pars before recording an eagle on the par-5 16th hole.
Justin Madden and Caden Wistreich tied for second among the Knights, each carding a 15-over 87 to finish tied for 57th. Madden shot a 42 on the front nine, highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 fifth and a par on the par-4 eighth. He added five more pars on the back nine, including three straight on holes 12-14, en route to a 45.
Wistreich carded a 40 on the front nine and a 47 on the back. After opening with a bogey, he recorded a par on the second hole before picking up his lone birdie of the day on the par-5 fifth. He added one more par on the front nine. On the back, Wistreich recorded pars on the 10th and 17th holes.
Jacksen Goobie rounded out the Knights' scoring with a 17-over 89, shooting a 45 on the front nine and a 44 on the back. Goobie recorded two pars on the front nine before adding four more on the back, including pars on the 10th and holes 14-16.
Kyle Miller carded an 18-over 90, but his score did not contribute to the Knights' team total. Miller opened with a par on the first hole before recording a birdie on the second. He added back-to-back pars to close out the stretch and shot a 40 on the front nine. On the back nine, Miller recorded pars on the 10th and 14th holes en route to a 50.
Albright leads the team standings at 14-over 302, holding a two-stroke advantage over Hood at 16-over 304. Albright also has the individual leader, who carded a 2-under 70 in the opening round.
