Here at Arcadia, we want to focus on student-athletes as a whole and provide them with resources that help them perform at their best in all aspects of life. Part of doing this is focusing on proper nutrition. It is our goal to educate our student-athletes and introduce healthy eating habits to help prevent injury, improve mental health in both sport and the classroom, and enhance overall health.

WHAT WE DO


The Battle Bar
The Battle Bar is a nutrition bar that opens once a week, where we introduce a healthy snack for the University community. We provide samples as well as the recipe, with a full list of ingredients and instructions, so that students can make it on their own if they wish. This is to help educate students on different healthy foods they may be intimidated by or unaware of, with recipes that are usually low-cost and easy to make, and that students of all levels can recreate on their own. We also provide opportunities for student work, with an intern each year helping make the recipes and serving as the face of the Battle Bar.

Team Cooking Classes 
Working with our Metz staff, we organize team cooking classes throughout each semester. These cooking classes are based on a healthy meal that is easy and cost-effective for our student-athletes, helping them learn how to cook and meal prep for themselves and manage their busy schedules.

One-on-one and team nutrition consults 
During an appointment, we will meet with student-athletes individually to help them reach their nutritional goals. This can range from weight management, having specific food allergies, needing guidance on other healthy options, or simply trying to eat a more well-balanced diet. We also meet with teams to educate them on what a healthy, balanced diet looks like for their sport, to help them achieve peak performance.


Knight Pantry

The Pantry is open to all undergraduate and graduate students in need of food, hygiene products, and toiletries. Students may use up to 20 credits per week. 

Knight Hall

  • Tuesday: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Thursday: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Sunday: 6 – 8 p.m.

Oak Summit

  • Tuesday: 4 – 7 p.m.
  • Thursday: 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 6 – 8 p.m.
