Four Equestrian Riders Record First-Place Finishes at Shows Hosted by Arcadia and F&M

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University equestrian team competed in a pair of English/Hunt Seat shows this past weekend, hosting a show at Red Wing Farm Saturday before traveling to Franklin & Marshall College Sunday. The Knights had a pair of first-place performances at both shows.
 
On Saturday, senior Hannah LeMunyon (Warminster, Pa.) placed first of 12 riders in Class 20: Maiden Cross Rails, while sophomore Kathryn Boosz (West Chester, Pa.) placed first of seven in the "B" section of the Class 2B: Advanced Walk, Trot, Canter. Boosz also had a strong performance in Class 20: Maiden Cross Rails, placing fourth of 12.
 
Freshman Valerie Wilson (Sudlersville, Md.) placed second of 12 in Class 20: Maiden Cross Rails, while Megan Conley also finished in sixth. Sophomore Amanda Rogowyi (Humleville, Pa.) placed third of six in Class 4: Novice Fences Section A, while junior Ruth Stetler (Dillsburg, Pa.) placed third of six in Section E.
 
Freshman Sarah Doran (Coventry, Conn.) placed third of six in Section A of Class 2A: Beginner Walk, Trot, Canter, while freshman Samantha Wright (Delmar, N.Y.) and Jessa Karcher recorded a one-two finish among the six riders in Section B. junior Lindsay Riekers (Lancaster, Pa.) placed third of six in Section D of Class 2B: Advanced Walk, Trot, Canter, while Wilson placed second of six in Section E.
 
On Sunday, freshman Shannon Scott (Westminster, Md.) placed first of 10 riders in Class 20: Maiden Cross Rails, while Rogowyi placed first of seven riders at Class 5: Intermediate Flat. Freshman Paige Brooks (Harleysville, Pa.) also had an outstanding performance at Class 20: Maiden Cross Rails, placing fourth of 10.
 
Stetler and Rogowyi placed fourth of eight in Sections A and B of Class 4: Novice Fences, respectively, while Katelyn Binder placed third of seven in Class 3: Novice Flat. Sophomore Brenda Katz (Valley Stream, N.Y.) placed third of seven riders in Class 1: Walk, Trot. 
 
Arcadia had three riders finish second in their respective sections of Class 2B: Advanced Walk, Trot, Canter. Wilson and Scott placed second of six in Sections C and D, respectively, and freshman Casey Marcks (Scranton, Pa.) placed second of seven in Section E. In Class 2A: Beginner Walk, Trot, Canter, Doran placed second of five riders in Section A, while freshman Megan Donovin (Broomall, Pa.) placed second of four riders in Section B.
 
Both competitions also included Bucks County Community College, Delaware Valley College, Franklin & Marshall College, Gwynedd Mercy College, LaSalle University, Rider University, West Chester University and York College.
 
The Knights will next compete at the Penn State Berks English Show November 10.
