Box Score ASTON, Pa. – Junior midfielder
Kim Canfield (Hillsborough, N.J.) scored her second goal of the game in the 97th-minute to give the Arcadia University women's soccer team a 3-2 overtime victory at Neumann University Wednesday night. The Knights improved to 1-0-2 for the season, while Neumann fell to 0-2-0 for the year.
Neumann opened the scoring just 7:14 into the contest when senior back Jordyn Agresta (Williamstown, N.J.) scored off a direct kick, but that lead didn't last long as Canfield netted they first of her two goals at 12-minutes to tie the score at 1-1. Freshman forward
Lennon Kramer (Nazareth, Pa.) then gave the Knights their first lead of the game at the 17-minute mark off a feed from
Sara Volk-Perez.
Arcadia carries that 2-1 lead into the half and the score remained that way until sophomore midfielder Alexa De Rose (Bayville, N.J.) scored on a direct kick in the 77th-minute to knot the score at 2-2. Neither team was able to score through the end of regulation, sending the game into overtime where Canfield put home a pass from freshman midfielder
Karis Poore (Reading, Pa.) at 96:20 to give the Knights the 3-2 victory.
The game was nowhere near as close as the score would indicate. Arcadia dominated the game with 28 shots and 14 shots on goal, but junior keeper Briana King (Fieldsboro, N.J.) kept Neumann alive with 13 saves. Corner kicks also greatly favored the Knights, 11-2. Neumann managed just four total shots in the game, with one being saved by senior keeper
Jackie Law (Scotch Plains, N.J.).
Arcadia will look to remain unbeaten Saturday when it hosts a non-conference contest against Rosemont College at 1 p.m. at Easton Field.
