NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its first Player of the Week awards of the 2026 season, with sophomore Sadie Nugent of the Arcadia University women's soccer team earning MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week honors.
The reigning MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year picked up right where she left off last season, recording a hat trick in the Knights' season-opening 7-0 victory over Alvernia University. Nugent also assisted on Arcadia's first two goals, connecting with first-year Mia Casey twice within the opening 16 minutes as Casey scored the first two goals of her collegiate career. Nugent then found the back of the net three consecutive times to complete her hat trick.
In the Knights' second game of the week, Nugent recorded four shots, including two on goal, in a 0-0 draw on the road against Haverford College.
Through two games, Nugent is tied for the MAC Freedom lead with three goals and two assists while leading the conference with eight points.
The Knights are back in action twice this week, beginning Tuesday evening when they travel to The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) for a 6 p.m. matchup. Arcadia will then hit the road again Saturday for a 4 p.m. kickoff at Moravian University.
This marks the second time Nugent has earned MAC Freedom Player of the Week honors.
