Men’s Lacrosse Drops 11-3 Decision to Albright

Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team dropped an 11-3 non-conference decision to visiting Albright College Saturday afternoon at Easton Field. Both teams now own a record of 1-1 for the season.

Freshman attack Cam Cetrone (Odenton, Md.) scored the first two goals of the game for the Lions in a span of just 47 seconds, both of which were assisted by junior attach Philip Potter (Cortland, N.Y.), to give Albright a lead it would never give up.

The Knights nearly pulled even by the end of the first quarter. Freshman midfielder Joe Stanton (Edgewater, Md.) got Arcadia on the board with an unassisted goal with 2:31 left in the opening period after having a goal waived off on a crease violation exactly two minutes earlier.

The Lions took control of the game from there, outscoring the Knights 3-0 in the second quarter, which saw a goal from junior attack/midfielder Bryan Smith (Adams, N.Y.) sandwiched between a pair of goals from freshman midfielder Andrew Potter (Cortland, N.Y.), and then outscored Arcadia 4-1 in the third to put that game away.

Andrew Potter finished with a game-high three goals for Albright, while Philip Potter had one goal and two assists for a three-point game. Senior goalie Jordan DiZenzo (Jackson, N.J.) allowed three goals while making three saves to earn the win in net, improving his record to 1-1 for the year.

Sophomore midfielder Robert Palumbo (Staten Island, N.Y.), freshman attack Kenny Grant (Ridge, N.Y.) and Stanton finished with one goal each for the Knights. Freshman goalie Jordan Culichia (Pittsburgh, Pa.) went the distance in net and finished with 16 saves in his collegiate debut, two shy of matching the school record for saves in a game.

The Lions outshot the Knights 47-14 in the game, had a 33-25 advantage in ground balls, and won 11-fo-18 faceoffs in the game. Albright was 1-for-3 with the man-advantage, while Arcadia went 0-for-6.

The Knights will return to action Wednesday when they travel to Alvernia University for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest.
