Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team dropped an 11-4 non-conference contest to Susquehanna University Saturday afternoon at Easton Field, improving the Crusaders' record top 3-4 for the season. The Knights fell to 2-2 with the loss.
Susquehanna opened the game with a four-goal run, including all three first-quarter goals, and never looked back. The Crusaders led 5-2 at halftime and scored both third quarter goals to open a 7-2 advantage.
Freshman
Kenny Grant (Ridge, N.J.) scored just under five minutes into the fourth to cut Arcadia's deficit to 7-3 before Susquehanna put the game away with another four-goal surge to open an 11-3 lead with 2:51 left in the game.
Freshman Nick Citron (Chatham, N.J.) led the Crusaders with three goals and assisted on another, while senior Austin Lein (New Vernon, N.J.) scored one goal with a game-high four assists. Senior Jacob Farrell (Downingtown, Pa.) finished with a pair of goals.
Sophomore
Austin Morris (Jupiter, Fla.) had two goals to lead the Knights, while sophomore
James Galassi (Floral Park, N.Y) and Grant added one goal each.
Susquehanna's three goalies combined for eight saves, with junior Jared Knowlton (North Salem, N.Y.) earning the decision after stopping five shots in the first 30 minutes, improving his record to 2-3. Freshman
Jordan Culichia (Pittsburgh, Pa.) went the distance for Arcadia, stopping seven shots.
Shots were even at 16 apiece in the first half, while Susquehanna owned a 19-9 advantage in the second. The Crusaders had a 25-19 edge in groundballs and an 11-8 edge in faceoffs.
The Knights will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Rosemont College for a 4 p.m. non-conference contest.
