Box Score ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team cruised to a 15-5 non-conference win at Rosemont College Wednesday afternoon, improving the Knights' record to 3-2 for the season. The Ravens fell to 1-4 with the loss.
Arcadia got out to a slow start as Rosemont built a 3-1 first quarter lead, which featured a pair of goals from freshman Rasool Smith (North Philadelphia, Pa.) and one from junior Justin Regan (Hillsborough, N.J.). Sophomore
Austin Morris (Jupiter, Fla.) brought the Knights back within one with 1:08 to go in the opening frame, which started a five-goal surge that gave Arcadia the lead for good.
Freshman
John Caruso (Cinnaminson, N.J.) tied the game 1:35 into the second quarter, and sophomore
James Galassi (Floral Park, N.Y.) gave Arcadia the lead three minutes later. Freshman
James Boland (Hillsborough, N.J.) then netted back-to-back goals in just over two minutes, including the eventual game-winner, to cap the run.
The Knights scored all four third quarter goals and outscored the Ravens 9-1 in the second half to secure the win.
Boland had three goals and three assists while winning 13-of-19 faceoffs to lead Arcadia, while Caruso also netted three goals and added one assist. Galassi, sophomore
Ryan Griffo (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Morris finished with two goals each. Freshman
Jordan Culichia (Pittsburgh, Pa.) allowed four goals and had two saves in 53.18 to even his record at 2-2 for the season, while classmate
Ryan O'Leary (Millstone Township, N.J.) had one save and one goal against in the final 6:42.
Regan and Smith had two goals each for the Ravens, while sophomore Brody Safranek (Douglasville, Pa.) allowed all 15 goals while making 17 saves in net.
Arcadia outshot Rosemont 37-13, had a 44-33 ground balls and won 15-of-24 faceoffs.
