Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team opened the game with a four-goal run and never looked back on its way to a 14-5 non-conference victory over Bryn Athyn College Tuesday night at Easton Field. The Knights evened their record at 4-4 with the win, while the Lions fell to 1-6 with the loss.
Arcadia held a 5-1 lead at the half before putting the game away with a three-goal run to start the third quarter and open an 8-1 advantage three and a half minutes into the frame. The Knights were up 10-4 through three quarters and outscored the Lions 4-1 in the final frame.
Freshman
John Caruso (Cinnaminson, N.J.) scored a season-high five goals and assisted on another to lead Arcadia to the win. Classmate
Austin Goodwin (Galloway, N.J.) scored a season-high three goals, while sophomore
Ryan Griffo (Staten Island, N.Y.) added two goals and one assist. Freshman
Jordan Culichia (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tallied six saves as his record improved to 3-4 for the season.
Sophomore Luke Frazier (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) scored three goals and assisted on another for Bryn Athyn, while junior Kieran Ragan (Philadelphia, Pa.) and sophomore Dylan Roscioli (Easton, Pa.) added one goal each. Sophomore Robert Moran (Ambler, Pa.) took the loss after allowing 10 goals and making 12 saves in his 45 minutes in net.
The Knights outshot the Lions 44-23, had a 35-15 advantage in ground balls and won 17-of-20 faceoffs in the game. Arcadia was 2-for-7 with the extra man, while Bryn Athyn was 0-for-6.
The Knights will continue their four-game home stand Saturday when they host their Freedom Conference opener against Manhatanville College at 1 p.m. at Easton Field.
